Exhausted

Writer's picture: Megan Elizabeth Megan Elizabeth

I had to take a break from reality for a few weeks. I am so overwhelmed and consumed with every thing that's going on that its affecting my mental. My sleep schedule is so screwed up it doesn't matter what I do I can't get back on track. I swear I'm operating on 3 hours a night! My mind is consumed with a million things that it often feels like a ping pong table and all these thoughts are bouncing around.

I've gotten very little accomplished and I know I could be doing more but I am tired 24/7. When your people tell you to do some "self-care", LISTEN to them. Especially when life starts to challenge you, it's important to maintain a routine to ensure your mental health is stable.

What exactly is self-care? It's a variety of things. It could be taking a long hot shower after work, or soaking in the tub for hours. It could be a trip to the mall for a new outfit, a relaxing massage, or a pedicure at the local spa. It can be as simple as reading your favorite romance novel with a glass of wine, or going out with friends for an evening of socialization. Whatever you decide your self care is, make sure you incorporate it into your monthly (could be more) routine!

I haven't quite mastered my self-care routine. I'm not even sure I know what I enjoy doing. I've been so wrapped up in everyone else's life events that I can't keep track of my own. One day I'll get back to being myself. One day.

Matthew 11:28: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest"
